About Me

Terri Rose is an artist and author living and working near Taupō in Aotearoa New Zealand. Having grown up surrounded by animals of every kind and colour, with beaches, rivers and rolling hills to explore, Terri’s love for the environment and the animals that dwelled there was sealed. Upon leaving school she pursued a successful career as a script writer in the television industry.  

 

 

However, the medium of picture books was always calling and in 2012 Terri published her first title, Mr Bear Branches and the Cloud Conundrum, which went on to be nominated for several awards. Since then she has published a number of titles, collaborating with other creatives and expanding her knowledge of the publishing industry. Terri is known for her subtly playful and expressive creatures, endeavouring with every pencil stroke to pay homage to those animal companions that shaped her childhood. Her passion for the natural world drives her art, its complexity, colour and variety inspires her daily, trying to capture just a hint of that on paper will be a life long study, one which Terri happily undertakes…
